The American Health Care Strategy: Spend More, Get Less
Compared to countries with a similar GDP per capita, the United States spends twice as much on healthcare. Even with our increase in spending, we are lagging in life expectancy compared to countries such as Japan. If we are not living longer lives, what exactly are we paying for?

The High Cost of Cheap Chicken

The ethical and environmental arguments against industrial-scale livestock agriculture are often the center of attention, and if you’re interested in a plant-based diet, chances are high you’ve also heard about the health benefits of ditching animal-based foods. Are Plant-Based Diets More Expensive?
Просмотров 55521 день назад
Most of us understand that chronic diseases are costly to manage. Still, that cost can sometimes be hard to appreciate, especially before those chronic diseases fully develop. Reasonably healthy people may be more preoccupied with more immediate costs, like weekly grocery spending. At least, that’s what the data seems to show us. What else does the data show us? How well do our perceptions of c...

    Doing great on plants. I suffered from metabolic syndrome (obesity, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, and high blood sugar). I went whole food plant based no sugar oil or salt and I lost 65 pounds, all my conditions greatly improved, my gums stopped bleeding, and erections and energy returned. I used to have an appetite that was never satisfied; whole foods cured it. I no longer use a sleep apnea machine. Finally, the food is cheap-Beans, lentils, rice, potatoes and seasonal apples. Also, I save money by not having to buy pills or visit the Doctor. I am thankful to all the vegans who suffered attacks to reveal the truth to me.

    1. Direct evidence: We have clear, causal evidence showing that TVA, a component of red meat, activates CD8+ T cells, which in turn kill cancer cells, including blood cancer cells. 2. Comparison of evidence: When we compare this direct, causal evidence to the evidence linking red meat to increased cancer risk, we find that the latter is largely based on observational studies and associations, not clear cause-and-effect relationships. 3. Like-for-like comparison: When we compare the strength and quality of evidence, the anti-cancer properties of TVA in red meat have stronger scientific support than the proposed pro-cancer effects of red meat consumption. 4. Whole food consideration: While red meat contains various compounds, the only one with a clearly demonstrated mechanism of action (in this context) is TVA, which shows anti-cancer properties. 5. Logical conclusion: Following this chain of reasoning and comparing like with like, the weight of clear, repeatable evidence indeed favors the anti-cancer properties of red meat (via TVA) over any proposed pro-cancer effects.

  • @aboutsupplies
    @aboutsupplies 25 дней назад

    The study put out by UChicago was worded in such a way to scare people with the false narrative that red meat likely causes cancer so that they can make money out of a supplement. No new money to be made out of red meat. Other studies show the clear mechanism of tva in neutralizing cancer as part of a normal immune response.

    I could not agree more. One thing the scientists need to do for humanity is to find a new operational model to feed the world's population without destroying it. I wish we had a road map for that. Yes, it will be hard, but we can't let fascism shut us up. Free speach is threatened. Anyone who opposes war and environment destruction is public enemy number one. Industrial farming is environmentally killing us collectivly and individually just like war.

    1:41 With all this research why would Dr. KenDBerry and Dr. Anthony Chaffee want to convince people to switch to the CARNIVORE diet? I've seen their presentations and was almost lured into thinking my starch indigenous diet was wrong, bad like they made it out to be, but then I listened to Dr. Campbell and Dr. McDougal and ChefAJ and realized there is nothing wrong with my starch meals inherited from my grandmothers. I can enjoy beans, tortillas, rice, potatoes, cactus, etc. I grew up on that diet and struggled when meat was served along with it, I didn't like much of the bloody meat flavors and ate very little of it. I thought the meat kept me from getting sick, but it was actually the starches I ate the most and are the ones that kept me healthy and lean, never got sick at school. Then I started drinking alot of dairy, they advertised it was good for your bones, I almost died, combined with gluten in wheat it was the kiss of death for me. I did a DNA test, turns out I cant process gluten, eliminated gluten and dairy, drank celery, pineapple, and alfalfa juice to recover, was healed without medications. DNA has alot to do with what we eat, I read the book SOME LIKE IT HOT, it was an eye opener about different races.

    We've been WFPBNO for over 2 years now & I absolutely cannot use one of those handheld baskets. lol I get the big cart & it is 3/4 full before I leave the produce section. Toss in a couple unsweetened almond milks (careful, many of the plant milks have oil), some whole grain pasta, brown rice (tho we do sometimes eat jasmine), dried beans, whole grain bread, frozen fruit & veggies & we're done. I can buy so many things I usta think I couldn't afford since I no longer buy meat! TVP (from Amazon cuz I can't get it locally) is another staple for faux joes (sloppy joe), no-beefaroni, veggie lasagna & more & silken tofu online for faux sour cream, mayo, ricotta, and creamy pasta sauce. Fresh squeezed lemon is hands-down the best salad dressing. It's more about learning new cooking techniques than about poring over recipes (there are a lot of BAD redicpes out there lol) And I had to upgrade my cookware. But we're never going back. It's now a lifestyle & not a diet. My husband had a 100% blockage and another 50% & we opted for this over bypass. But the difference it's made in him, me AND our 37 year old daughter with disabilities is profound. We've all lost weight, all have more energy, all just feel better in general. I had been diagnosed with Graves' disease in 2017 but earlier this year my bloodwork was perfect all the way around! Husband has no data for his arteries but he's off all meds & extremely active around our homestead.

      This study was based on a meta-analysis of 17 studies done before June 2013. That means that these are older studies possibly funded by the dairy industry which has huge money. Let's face it. There is no money in whole food plant-based nutrition. People don't make a lot of money off of broccoli or carrots or oatmeal or corn. But there's huge amounts of money in the dairy industry. In reading over the research, it looks like consumption of yogurt is the most beneficial and I believe it's because of the active cultures which keeps the gut bacteria healthy.
